From My Heart to Yours
May 21, 2009
I stop. I am here now.
I feel gratitude for realizing I am aware that I am here, in this moment.
I feel grateful I Am — I rejoice in the blue sky. I breathe a breath and I wonder of relationship. The breath of life comes to me. I am able to receive it. I take it in and I release it. I am in relationship with all around me.
Spirit is my passion. I am surrendered to the Principle of Life. God is and so I am encouraged. (my heart is moved to beat).
Someone loves me who is unlimited, who is free and all knowing, all powerful and everywhere present.
This I know through the Gift of Faith — This Faith ’springs’ inside of my heart as an ‘felt sense’, a conviction, a sureness that this is so; that God is and that I am.
I celebrate and am grateful for the gift of faith.
This is my surety and this is my hope — this is the key of Life, for me.
My heart tastes the Goodness that is God.
This Goodness motivates me to get inspired.
I choose to breath because I believe, I am convinced that Love is.
I feel as if I KNOW Love is a Wisdom higher than I can comprehend and that all that which is confusing and distressing to me is “Resolved” in this One.
I am a thinking being and a creative story telling being.
The story I tell myself is of utmost importance.
The story about Love as source and solution is the spark that encourages me to persist. It gives me heart.
Faith and courage are simultaneously cause and effect — they are my constitutive, YES to Life.
“I” choose, from that yes, to create a story of Health and Wellbeing. In Love I make wise choices that affirm my principle truth — that Love and Wisdom are at the helm and that we/I are being resolved back into infinite, unbounded Goodness, Love, Truth, Harmony.
I use my will together with my powers to understand, imagine and form words (to tell myself story), to comfort and console myself through distress and confusion and limited thinking.
I am thereby resolving myself with the Guidance of Spirit into the Liveliness of Love and Wisdom and Harmony.
I perceive that God is Fellowship, dialogue, relationship. I perceive that relationship allows me to know I am and that I am able to create story by my power to make words and articulate concepts, insights, ideas.
I do this because I know my self to be indestructible life.
I have inate sense of Beauty. Where does that come from? Does it not come from the Loving and Wise Heart of God?
What is Beauty but the work of Harmony, symmetry, order — the chaos can be resolved into a symphonic Beauty by the Mastermind that is God expressing Itself through me as me.
I affirm my Life. I affirm my story. I affirm the gift of my individuality and the fellowship that supports it and allows it to be.
Thank you for being there, you who are reading these lines expressive of my thought.
What Am I Affirming? Good or Ill?
May 20, 2009
The power of thought becomes evident when I realize I am behind my thought and I actually select and direct that thought.
As the power at the back of thought I have to see and understand my self as the source of that thought.
Am I a pure source or is my water murky?
Hence, as we read in other posts I see that I have a responsibility to ‘affirm’ my truth.
Something inside of me moves me to want to love and do good. What is that?
That, is the original stuff from which I am made. It is Love and Good itself.
Now I have a choice. I can look at the circumstances of my life and get overwhelmed by how chaotic it all is.
Or
I can look at the source from whence I come and remember the Truth of Who I Am. i.e… Love and Good.
I ask my self the question: where do I want to be?
I set my INTENTION according to the answer.
I then use the Power of Affirmation. I either repeat the story that things are chaotic and in that way I affirm my self into the land of depression.
OR
I then use the Power of Affirmation to remind myself that I am Love and I am Good. That way I gradually become stronger and clearer in the TRUTH of Who I Am.
So, Today I Affirm that I am One with the Infinite Wisdom and Love I call God. I allow myself to be basking in this lovely clear spring water. There is no room for the contaminating effect of doubt or fear, or bitterness or rage.
I’m OK.
I’m more than OK. I am a pool of fresh clear life giving water. I am the spring that is overflowing with this fresh clear life giving substance. I OVERFLOW in Tranquility and is Assurance. I am guided and protected in the Beauty of who I am. I am secure in Love and Goodness. I affirm my truth.
This day naturally unfold in wondrous ways as I allow myself to energetically and attentively ‘respond’ to every nudge of Love’s and Wisdom’s Guidance. I am safe and secure in each step of this day and I affirm that only Good manifests in my world. I am safe and secure building more and more Beautiful structures in my Awesome life.
Day by day, moment by moment as I set my Intention and Word the Affirmation of my Love and Goodness I become more and more settled in the Source of Influence for Good that I am. I feel greater and greater JOY!
This is my life. I am receiving and giving the Gift of Gratitude. It is so Good to see and feel my self FLOW this way and so I go and go with it.
Peace that passes all understanding is with me. And so it is, Amen! and Alleluia!

Your Thought Is A Limiteless Creative Power.
May 19, 2009
Today, I’m continuing on ‘thinking’, about “thought”.
Again, Troward is my mentor” “You will realize the truth that your THOUGHT is a limitless creative power, and that you yourself are behind your thought, controlling and directing it with knowledge for any purpose which Love motivates and Wisdom plans.”
It seems that every time I read or hear those words I do a second take. It is as if I have never heard them, on the one hand and it is as if I truly understand them, on the other hand.
The other passage I want to link to this one is about what it means to enter into the spirit of something.
We often use that expression; ‘ah come one get into to the spirit of it’.
It usually means ‘liven up’. Now we all know that to ‘get into’ something you have to give it some ‘heart’. For some that means a real effort to let go of fears or ‘I don’t want to’ and then choosing to jump in.
The result: usually a feeling of happiness and of being a part of things.
In Troward’s words: “To enter into the spirit of anything, is to make yourself one in thought with the creative principle that is at the center of it.”
To get into it you have to get to the heart of it, the spirit of it, the essence, the center. You have to get right into it heart, soul, mind and body.
And so Troward teaches that if thought is the way to get into it, use your thought to go to the center…”make yourself one in thought with the creative principle that is at the center of it.”
In other words, use your thought to identify yourself with the center and thereby, actually become aware that your thought can lead you to know yourself as One with the Spirit of Life. If you come to understand yourself as one with the Creating Principle, your whole life, through the limitless creative power of your thought, will cause your whole life to be in the spirit of life. You don’t work on this and that but by being in the Spirit of Life all of your life circumstances will reflect the liveliness that Spirit is.
Think about that: your thought is a limitless creative power. How then shall you ‘create’ your day?
A thought for the day.
Peace

The ‘Creative’ Power of THOUGHT
May 17, 2009
For the last year I have been in the process of ’shifting’ my awareness regarding ‘thought’ and the role it plays in my life.
I have been allowing myself to be influenced by a man called Thomas Troward. He lived in the early part of the 20th century and is considered as one of the founding minds in ‘New Thought’.
I believe, New Thought is behind the latest movement called the ‘law of attraction’ espoused in the Secret.
Troward’s thinking and writings are apparently hard to read but, I find it very much worth the effort.
In a section dealing with ‘the creative power of thought’, Troward writes: “Thought must necessarily be limited by our conceptions. We cannot think of something which we cannot conceive; and therefore, the more limited our conceptions, the more limited will be our thought, and its creations will accordingly be limited in a corresponding degree.”
Troward always refers his readers back to Source. Think from Source not from your surroundings.
The main concept concerning the human is that the human is ‘made in the image of God’. That CONCEPT is the basis of a whole line of thinking that turns normal thinking on its head.
We tend to think from our experience and based on our memories and the deductions we made from them. We look at the world around us and see it as the starting point. The New Thought movement with teachers like Troward and Emerson turn things around. They encourage us to see life, not from the world of ‘conditions’ around us but from the world of ‘Conceptions” or Cause that are at the source of our being here.
If I am made in the Image of God I need to identify with that fact, first and foremost. Hence I conceive of myself as One with the Original Universal Life-Principle.
In so doing I start to reason from that truth rather than from all the facts and experiences of my life. I don’t start by reasoning from the level of sin, sickness and death.
I start reasoning from the Creative Source which is Omnipotent (all powerful), Omniscient (all knowing) and Omnipresent (everywhere present). Otherwise known as God. Hence, my thought dares to say it is like God.
It then begins to reason from the identification with the creator. I ‘conceive’ of myself as one with God because if I am created in the image of God, I am a chip off the old block. And so I can start by affirming my power and fullness instead of my smallness and limitations.
As the thought learns to ‘identify’ with the Truth it begins to draw new and more uplifting experiences into the life of the thinker and pulls that person out of the wold of pain and limitation.
“Thought must necessarily be limited by our conceptions. We cannot think of something which we cannot conceive;” The key in all of this is daring to believe that we are indeed one with God. This we can do as we allow ourselves to believe there is a higher power that is there to ‘guide’ us. To recognize the guiding Spirit is to place ourselves in the place of receiving new Conceptions that will turn our life on its head, as I said above. We discover that the only way to free ourselves of the limited thinking that has led us this far… is to let ourselves be guided into a higher conception of who we are and have, thus far, known ourselves to be. As our thoughts change…and we take on a New Way of Thinking, our life circumstances change.
A little food for thought on this lovely day.
Peace.

Watch the words you speak, they create.
May 12, 2009
Several days have passed since last I posted.
Quite frankly, I haven’t posted because I’ve been wondering about what this blog is all about.
It’s about sounding through. Sounding through is the long form of the word — person.
Person is what “I” bring. Person is that Unique thing called me.
To sound through is to release that which is most essential to me.
Today, I am reflecting on the ‘word’.
It is written; “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”
Looking at it very simply, I ask, what is a word? It is a ’sound’. Amazingly that sound can be interpreted by the ear to mean something. A word describes something or someone or somewhere: stone, John, Atlantis.
Words strung together describe places, peoples’ attitudes or stories.
In short a word ‘articulates’ “ideas”.
An Idea is in the realm of imagination until it is spoken. It then is manifest. A chair is only an idea until a carpenter fashions the idea into the thing we sit on.
And so we could say that a ‘person’ is a perfect ‘idea’ in the mind of God. When that idea surfaces and manifests itself through a body it now has the opportunity to articulate what its all about. The body is the ‘form’ of the ‘idea’. The body is the ‘means’ of expression. The ‘person’ associated with that body now has occasion or a means to ‘express’ itself. It can now ’sound through’.
And so, a word serves in the ‘articulation’ process. A word is meant to EXPRESS.
So aren’t we all here — individually– to express our truth?
I think the expression of that truth is at the deepest place of longing in us. We will not rest satisfied until we realize that we are ONE with God and we are meant to EXPRESS the truth of who we are. We are meant to sound through as the unique person we are.
We are born. We have a body. But, I think the call is to ‘articulate’ or “express’ the invisible part that moves that body. We are already a word but we need to become ‘aware’ and to clarify our purpose and the meaning to our life.
Yet, I don’t think we often realize that what is longing in us is this ‘desire’ to be all we are ‘meant’ to be.
“In the beginning was the Word”, suggests to me that I must clarify who I am and what it is I bring into the world to serve others.
I can do that by understanding that my ‘word’ has the power to ‘create’, ‘influence’ and ‘articulate’ the good I want to see in the world and am meant to express.
The word is my story. It’s what I am all about and I will not rest satisfied until I speak that word and sound through clearly as who I truly am and not who I think I am.
Thinking out loud today.
Peace
Norm
